AES are Premier Specialist Installers of High-Quality Electric Gates and Driveway Gates in Scotland
AES (SCOTLAND) LTD undertake all aspects of electric gates & driveway gates in Edinburgh, Fife, Perth & Kinross, Glasgow and most of the Central Belt, Scotland.
Tracked Sliding Electric Gates
A tracked sliding gate is where the gate rolls along a track, across the driveway opening.
These type of gates have several advantages over other types of gates, including:
- They use less space because they slide across rather than swing into your driveway. This makes them an ideal choice for small spaces.
- As the gates cannot be forced open easily, they offer greater security.
- As the gate runs along a track, they can be constructed using heavier materials, which again can offer greater security.
We offer sliding gates in both an electric gate or as a manually operated version.

Swing Electric Gates
A typical swing gate system is a pair of gates that open when using a remote control, intercom or keypad. The gates normally swing open into the driveway but can also swing outwards if necessary.
Swing gates are more popular than sliding gates as they tend to be more economical and there is less disruption to install.
These type of gates have several advantages over other types of gates, including:
- Quicker and faster to install.
- Ideal for gravel driveways.
- No tracks across the driveway opening.
We offer our swing gates in both an electric gate or as a manually operated version.
Cantilever Sliding Electric Gates
A cantilever gate is where the gate is suspended across the driveway opening.
These type of gates have several advantages over other types of gates, including:
- They use less space because they slide across rather than swing into your driveway. This makes them an ideal choice for small spaces.
- As the main foundation is at the side of the driveway, you can continue to use your driveway as we are installing the gate.
- As the gate is suspended across the opening, they can be installed on uneven ground.
- They are not affected by small stones or leaves.
We offer our cantilever gates in both an electric gate or as a manually operated version.
We have various gate designs. Please see our wooden, aluminium, wrought iron and composite gate pages for some examples.
